Default SUZUKI SIDEKICK 1996 4DOOR - 04-24-2006 , 09:36 PM

Hi there,
I am going to buy a suzuki sidekick 1996 , mileage is 110,000 miles. I
am wondering how far the car still runs?? some Japanese cars such as
Camry or Accord, Civic, can run until 200,000 miles. I don't know
anything about SUZUKI. plz give me advice.

Thanks

as with any vehicle...its all in how they are maintained...if it was
well maintained 250k is not un common...

here in the northeast they usually rust away before they stop running

It depends on the maintenance made by the previous owners. As a matter of
fact the parts typically stressed are the steering system, the drive shaft
and the differentials.
If the vehicle has been used for heavy off road those parts need at least
to be seriously controlled.
Here in Italy I've seen many Suzuki lasting for 300,000km before expensive
damages. So I can say that the mileage you've previously indicated would be
an quite easily obtainable target.

What I finally reccomend you is to make a test drive if possible. Better
would be if you go with a good techincian or skilled off road driver that
can help you to indicate the eventual problems.
Good luck!
