my friend has a 92 Ford explor and when he got the suv the guy said that
the 4 wheel drive works but it will get stuck in 4 wheel drive now we
tryed to put into 4 wheel drive and nothing happens it has a push botton
4x4 and the light dont even turn on i have checked all the wires and fuses
and linkages i need help on this one i have no clue what it could be

i dunno if it is or not i tried to look it up and see, but i know that
on the newer model keeps and chevrolets that the push button 4wd is
vacuum operated if you happen to be under it check on the fron axle
housing for a vacuum cluster, there may be one unhooked or have a hole
in it. hope that this message may help.

also check the motor on the transfer case to see if its engaging or
not, these sometimes go out and are fairly easy to change

it could be a vaccum or t may also be the switch itself..i dunno about
fords but chevy also has a sensor that plugs into the frt diff which is
controlled by the ecm..check it out
