Default How can i fix my breaks - 01-11-2007 , 02:54 PM

My abs light stays on. When i hit the brake pedal, the brakes dont catch
till halfway, then they throw ya through the windshield because there so
hard. It seems to be the front brakes causing the hard braking. Ive
checked the back brakes and fluid is coming to them and they're
functioning...anyone have any suggestions???

Sounds like your pads may be gone in the front. They will feel like
that when there is no more pad material left (i.e. metal to metal).
Pull off a front wheel & see how the pads look. While you are there,
check the rotors for scoring, gouges, etc. They should be smooth.

Disc pads are easy to change, you just need a large C-clamp to push the
piston back in to make room for the new pads.

Another check is the resevoir; is the fluid low? That is another sign
of the front pads wearing down.

Good luck,
Clay
