Default mount lights on cowl cover - 10-31-2006 , 03:31 PM

i think cowl cover is the right term. the thing that hides the
windshield wipers.

here's the deal..i bought these off-road lights for my ford ranger. i
don't want to buy any light bars or anything for the top. i'll be
using them mostly in fields with tall grass so they'll be basically
useless on the bumper. my next idea was right there in front of the
windshield.

someone had said that the plastic cover wouldn't be stong enough to
hold the lights from all of the vibration. that makes sense but it
seems like there would be something i could put under that to make it
stronger, or soemthing else to mount it to.

just seeing if you guys had any suggestions on where to put the lights
(cheaply) or how to mount them on the cowl/wiper cover of a for ranger

I agree. That plastic cover just won't get it. Why not bolt
them to the hood? If you don't want to drill holes, they sell
clamp on mounts that might fit to the back edge of the hood.

Pep Boys, JC Whitney, Autozone, etc. Pretty much any place
that sells fog lights. I remember using a pair to mount some fog
lights on a '69 Torino Cobra back in '76.

Years ago i had read a cheap fix in the back of 4-wheel and off road.
Where a guy mounted his lights on a bracket off from the mirror bracket.
All you need is a drill and some flat steel.
