Isn't that the 'big' reason lots of folks don't like those diesel engines?
I know here in Canada with our high sulfur fuel, it is impossible to
follow one on the trail in our open top Jeeps. The black smoke is
extremely obnoxious and on the trials, the engine has to be roaring all
the time.
The poor suckers that have them are always designated to the back of the
line.
