My 2003 Diesel RR produces clouds of black smoke under acceleration.
Diagnostics appear to find nothing wrong. Any ideas anybody please.

Black smoke from diesels under hard acceleration is normal.

I know here in Canada with our high sulfur fuel, it is impossible to
follow one on the trail in our open top Jeeps. The black smoke is
extremely obnoxious and on the trials, the engine has to be roaring all
the time.

The poor suckers that have them are always designated to the back of the
line.

Thanks Chaps doesn't normally happen in the UK, particularly with such
super duper cars as RRs.

That dear old chap Mike Romain tugged on his pipe and said:

I'd agree - bad fuel (Tesco's?) ro else blocked air filter, turbo not
working or other blockage in the intake air side of the engine.
