My speedometer registers from 50 to 100mph at idle and continues on up as the vehicle starts moving. Is this an expensive fix? Any ideas on what is causing this? Thanks, Mo |

Bad stepper motor. Common problem. No need to replace entire cluster, very expensive. Simply replace the stepper motor. Since this is 100% covered by GM warranty up to 7 years/70,000 miles and dealers will do the job past that point on a goodwill program, pulling the cluster yourself and replacing the stepper motor yourself hardly seems necessary. I probably put more miles on than most. My 04 has over 120K on the clock. If |
