Default Draining anti-freeze from '02 8.1L - 06-07-2008 , 05:36 PM

What is the easiest way to drain and flush the anti-freeze from an '02 8.1L
and the radiator? Possibly looking to change from the Dex-Cool to the
traditional coolant as well during this.

Disconnecting the lower hose is a fast way to get the coolant out before a
complete flush.

As I understand it, there is a hex bolt near the bottom of the block. Any
sense in removing it to drain the block or just drop the lower hose and
flush it through a time or two?

Any high points that need to be loosened to keep air traps from happening
upon refill?

Drain the block....there's a fair bit of coolant left in the block. By all
means pull the lower rad hose. Wait until it drains. Then pull the block
plug and see how much comes out. It'll be more than you think.
