ok...did something really dumb. I towed my 2002 Tracker 4X4 AT with the tranfer case in 4wH. Now it will not move in drive but will work in low and reverse. What have I done? Tranfer case or transmission or both? The transmision was in Nuetral. thanks in advance |

Is that an automatic transmission? If so, I suspect you will need to repair or replace the transmission. yes..it is but it is designed to be pulled with the transfer case in neutral. but i guess you are probably right. was hoping it might just be the transfer case. I'm not a transmission specialist, (I just play one on the internet) but, because it functions in low and reverse, I suspect something in the transission which can handle low torque loads has been damaged. It might be as simple as adjusting the bands. |
