Well, Thanks to new england road salt ( I'm assuming ) my AC is leaking out the rear condenser. Last year I replaced the pump and seals up front for the tune of $400+/-. The pipes to the rear are , for lack of better terms, corroding and seem to not want to break free of the condenser so I took it to a dealer ( just for Shits & Grins ) and an AC specialty shop ( highly reccomended by local parts stores ). Both basically came back with high price tags and even if I do it all myself it's still more than I think I want to sink into the truck ( 1997 K1500 w/140K ) as I will probably get an upgrade next year. So my question is can I by-pass the rear AC someway? such as blocking off the pathways to the rear ? is there a kit for this or an online walkthrough? Any constructive ideas? Thanks ! |

You can block the off and cap them up front if you want . The only possible fall out is that the dual A/C system has a bigger compressor and noy sure what effect this might have on front system when all of refrigerant is forced through front system. It may if fact not be a problem but it is worth mentioning. ----------------- The SnoMan |
