I hope they've done basics like compression tested the engine. Why is
one spark plug oiled? Test one - compression!

In this case, maybe you are, but many Alfa dealerships have a hard
earned reputation to live down to..apparently.

I take it that a change of dealership isn't an option then.. Are
Wilsons Epsom any good?

Even so, I'd be tempted to pass on you're experiences to Alfa UK
asking for their assistance in helping you stick with Alfa as a
marque.

I feel your pain. My experience would suggest rescuing your car now
and taking it somewhere that's interested and competent, but it's not
always been that simple in my experience either! :-(
