Default Reverse Light is On. - 06-23-2003 , 06:11 AM

Hello , guys.
My car was not in use for a few weeks and now the reverse light is on at
all times . Anybody knows what could have gone wrong.

Appreciate your help.

Kind of depends on what car you have, and model you have

Most likely possibility is that the reversing switch is stuck
I agree with Catman. Did you park the car in reverse instead of using the
handbrake?

It was in my garage for like 3 weeks or so and wasn't parked in
reverse for sure.I'm pretty sure i used the hand brake . Its 97/146
TS.
So if the switch is stuck is there any way i can unstuck it myself or
i gotta get it fixed by a mechanic .

Thanx for ur help guys.

Normally they are fairly easy to get at, being screwed into the gearbox
somewhere, though I'm not sure where on the 146. If you can find it
replacement should be easy, requiring one spanner.
