Autobody - Removal of 3m double sided tape from a hood protector - 01-23-2007 , 12:04 AM

How would I remove the double sided tape that remained after the hood
protector I have came off. I have heard possibly a heat gun, or is
there some sort of product that will dissolve it easily without
damaging the paint?
