I'm trying to identify the automobile in the attached picture ( http://i301.photobucket.com/albums/nn60/chengdave2003/Miscellaneous/DeHartMartinresized.jpg ). I was able to blow up the tag to read most of it. It says Ft. Sill is in vertical letters on the left; OKLA (as in Oklahoma) in vertical letters on the right; at the bottom ("EAS"?), and then U S Army, and the date is 1927. The fella in the picture is Martin H. DeHart, a first cousin (twice removed) of mine. I'm assuming the firgure of the jumping cougar (etc) on the tire cover may help to identify it. Thank you very much!!! Dave |

Dave It looks like a Whippet roadster, manufactured by Willys Overland, circa 1927-28. Notice the whippet (dog) on the spare cover. Here is a touring car, of the same make and vintage: http://www.hubcapcafe.com/ocs/pages01/whippet2801.htm |

Thank you very much! I did some more research and I think you're right. I haven't found a car that matches it exactly, but pretty darned close. Thank you again!
