Didn't like the other answers? Since you didn't tell anything about
the engine the best you will get is generic advise, which is
*worthless* about 99% of the time. But since you asked:

10° BTDC @ 800 RPM

There, now go away. Don't repost this stupid question again.

Again, it depends on the distributor's advance curve.....

What didn't you understand about that the first time?

If your advance curve goes a total of 26°, then 10° BTDC at idle will work.
It will give you 36° total advance at 2000 rpm.

If, however, your distributor advance curve goes 36°, you need to set
initial timing at 0° at idle.

Setting it at 10° BTDC at idle, will give you a total, piston-frying
advance of 46° at 2000 rpm.

As I said.......

IT DEPENDS ON THE DISTRIBUTOR'S ADVANCE CURVE!!!!!!
