Default F1 2002: adding tracks? - 08-09-2003 , 01:19 PM

I just dl'd a couple of tracks: Mid-Ohio and Pocono. The game
crashes when I try to load either. I just added all the files to
the season02\tracks directory in their respective folders. I also
have GTR2002 loaded, but didn't put them there. Any guidance on
getting these working?

thanks,
Dave

Mid Ohio, Spyder's that is, should drop right into whatever track folder
you have. Take a look at the midohio.scn file with notepad and see if the
top lines are pointing to where you have the track installed.
Pocono may require some extra files since it is a conversion of the
Nascar THunder track. Look for a folder called Common. You should have a
Common folder in your tracks directory and it should have at least the file
common.mas.

Thanks, Dave. There were no lines pointing to the files at
all! So I copied them from the std tracks. That got Mid Ohio
working.

But regarding Pocono, I don't have Common folder. Do I need
Nascar Thunder, or some special installation to get these working?

thanks again,
Dave

yes you need the common folder, You can get it sometimes at the same
sites that have the downloadable tracks...or....you can download the nascar
thunder demo and copy it from that over to F1 2k2
