F1 99-02: saving between sessions

Is it possible to save the game between sessions of a race, e.g.,
between practices, after qualifying? Or do you have to go through all
those sessions in one sitting--which doesn't seem like it would be
humanly possible?

No, and it's one of the most glaring flaws in the game... :-\

(hope they allow it in GTR)
