LOL!
Nope, they can find their own smart-arse cat, just like we did.
(Although, on reflection, I think *he* found *us*!)

Ok i to think this rascar shit is out of hand. Yes this news group may be because of rascrap but please your bitching like a bunch of old ladies.
Allow me to simplify this for you. Have a secure site designed (passworded) could even charge for membership to support the cause
then set up tcp/ip servers. A few for each mod if need be. then each different server can set shit up they way they want, as far as
driving aids, hardcore whatever and clearly post that by the severs info on the site.
then any member can pick and choose according to skill level, mod, ping and what ever other variations are available
In this vast world a few can not control the many so offer more options. seems simple enough to me.

Myself and 73 others do this now we have several servers going and we can pick the race we want to go into by the info provided by that server on the site
so I know this course of action does and will continue to work.

Just an idea that will be coming to the web soon

The Nascar Racing 2003 TCP\IP Portal

We have anywhere from 3 to 23 different ip's and their info (rules/mods) posted at any given time.
Trans-Am, Patched Papy and BGN

So all you RASCRAP racers stay tuned for the NEW, THE RIGHT, THE FAIR way to race.

And not Hitler type racing commandos governing any race unless you choose that type of race.

IT WORKS AND HAS FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW.

so as rascar kills itself keep in mind that at this very moment
The Nascar Racing 2003 TCP\IP Portal has 4 races running right now and no one is fighting or crying or whinning like girlies
over rules and whos in control. Don't like what ya see start and add your own server and play by your rules.

RULES ARE GOOD , DICK-TATORS ARE NOT!

Again a simple solution to very ugly mees ya'll have here.

REMEBER WHEN RACING WAS FUN?

Webmaster of
The Nascar Racing 2003 TCP\IP Portal

Exactly, excellent post.

Wondered when someone was going to clue into something like this. If you
want to
race with people on RAS then create a league and invite them. Simple. The
server
owner or designated admin controls the server and sets the rules. If RAS
regulars don't like what that particular admin is doing they won't join.
Sure,
post reminders of the races and recruitment information if you like to RAS
to
keep people here informed, but use your own forum for the flame wars,
entertaining as they are. Other leagues recruit here, just because RASCAR
only
recruits here doesn't make it that special. Otherwise I don't see how
RASCAR is
different than any another league. Face it, RASCAR is never going to be
the
wonderful open racing utopia some of you envision. The personalities and
skill
levels in here won't allow that and everyone has their own idea of what it
should be. If there aren't enough people in here that share the same
vision as
an admin then the league will die a natural death. From what has been
going on
in here lately its very apparent different groups want different things in
a
league. Well imagine that!, people in here not getting along on the
track, hell
some of you aren't very civil to each other in here let alone behind the
wheel!
So find a server, set the rules, and invite people from RAS if you
want. If
it's good it'll work but don't be alarmed if not everyone wants to join.

Thanks for the rant.

The bar tenders seem to vent here as much as the drunks however ;-)

Hmm, you mean RAS's bar. Again your statement seems to point out the major
issue I've read on here, ownership of RASCAR.

No difference to me really, just seems strange what sets this league apart
from the rest. Other leagues have as many RAS members I'm willing to bet as
RASCAR yet this is not their public forum is all.

Errrmmm..but that's what is (part of) the problem. RASCAR was founded here by R.A.S. readers who decided to go race. Nothing
wrong with that. I didn't want to join them, but I could have. Nothing wrong with that. Now, however, some people cry "foul"
and say RASCAR isn't for everyone and they need to get off this newsgroup. Ummm...it IS from this newsgroup. So? Creat an
"anti-RASCAR" rule in your newsreader, and you'll see them no more. I didn't see anyone say that other leagues can't advertise
here either.

Reminds me of the people who buy a house near the airport then complain 'cause the darn planes keep flying overhead...
Next people will start complaining because there are way too many GPL posts here...

My .02 cents...

Cheers!

If that were the case then I can see it being a part of RAS, a place to do a
pickup race with names you know but that is/wasn't the case. It basically
became invite only with rules around car file names and then evolved into a
league with penalties and thus why I don't see it part of RAS.

It became a community series for select members, or at least that is how I
seen it as an outsider.

What's different about RASCAR? To me it's a place to race on Saturday,
sort
of like the pickup hockey games that take place on the local rink every
Sunday morning. It is (or was anyway) informal, no points and few written
rules. You would generally know most of the participants and the most
important things were to have fun and get some excercize. The only real
requirement was the ability to respect your fellow racers/ players. If you
couldn't skate/ drive or you acted like a jerk you would hopefully get the
message in a friendly way and either work on it or phase out. Noone would
do
anything but help someone who is making a solid effort to improve. Whether
this is or still will be true for Rascar remains to be seen. At least it's
still like that at the local rink

Spark

It may be called RASCAR but beyond the name what
sets it apart from any other league?
