So I am trying to create an account for Motor City online...........but the
link is dead. I thought (spelled HOPING) this game could be played
offline......but it keeps asking me to sign in. I am not really into playing
online games....but if I have to just to play it........can someone "lend"
me a username and password maybe that they don't use anymore?? Or, better
yet..........is there a way to play this offline?? Thanks
No it can't be played offline, and since it's "pay to play" I doubt
anyone has an old account lying about :-), but it's a waste of time
anyways, I was playing it some during the open beta and was less than
impressed

Too bad, it was a decent idea, but online *only*...hmmmm

Beers and cheers

I assume they're not taking new accounts since MCO is gone for good in
August.

MCO was actually a pretty good racing game. It allegedly was designed
for offline gaming originally and supposedly EA could realease this
version at some point if they were so included. I hope at some point
this will happen as MCO evolved into a pretty good offering after a
few patches. It was unique and had a lot to offer sim racers with an
interest in cars of the 50's, 60's, 70's.

Yeah.......I am all about a good muscle car game. I liked Test drive 6 for
that reason.........the Camaro was pretty cool. I was kinda let down to find
the link was dead.....and even more now that your news has seen my light of
day....sucks. BTW, what patches and where can I get them?? Thanks for the
info..........I do hope before they drop it entirely they release a patch or
something that will offer offline useage.

Verne

p.s. A while back (March maybe) I was in contact with the 996 challenge dev
and he was mentioning working on a muscle car mod.......wonder what ever
came of that........no longer have his email of course.

Highly unlikely that there will ever be an 'MCOffline'. The issue has been
discussed to death on the MCO forums - which are still active BTW, you can
read the threads if you go to mco.ea.com and follow the links to the message
boards.

Another BTW - some ex-MCOers are working on a Classic Trans-Am mod for F1C,
you can follow their progress at http://www.racingnationonline.com/transam/

I believe MCO was shut down due to lack of interest?

Default EA server HD crash (Re: MCO (offline ??) create account link dead.) - 07-22-2003 , 03:29 AM

The EA servers had a harddrive crash, probably includes the mco servers.
They'll be up soon.
