Hi all, I'm having trouble keeping the FF settings under N2003. Most of the time when I go to a track the wheel (MS FF Sidewinder) goes from it's "centered" position, (which I have always assumed to be it's "force activated" position) to a, for lack of a better term, "slack" postion which offers no force resistance at all. If I go into the options menu, change for "direct input" driver to "generic" and then back to direct input, re-calibrate and then re-assign, it's fine. The wheel itself works fine but this process is somewhat cumbersome, especially in online races. Can anyone help or have any ideas? Thanks, Timmy |

Mine is the all black version, and I have the opposite problem, Mine acts like it loads a profile other than the one I have created for Nascar, you know where you set deadzone, separate pedals, then low FF, and zero centering forces then save profile... if someone resets the server I get some other "profile" (but still mine is selected). I have the joystick shortcut to the control panel on desktop, and usually I have it opened up so the MS software is up... so when this happens I usually hit the windows key (park the car 1st of course), into the control panel applet select another profile ( I have 4 of them in a row set identical) go back into the game and all is fine... takes a minute though. I have missed start of race due to this... What is weird to me is that with my older BX6 motherboard with the 1000 mhz chip, and same install of XP I never ever had this problem. I assumed it was all just me, because I upgraded and had XP do a REPAIR on itself. Guess Ill have to format and try soon, but time.. I think there is a " please Im not sure how it was worded either>> certain Chipset-sidewinder software patch" at the MS site BTW Have you guys tried this yet? seems to be reading that a lot of USB with VIA chipset thing is a problem but Im not really sure on that.
