I got this MOMO (brand new) from a friend a while ago. It has been working. For months I haven't played anything with my wheel because I was playing with my Xbox. Yesterday I bought an ATI 9800 pro and really want to get back to PC gaming again. I just fired up the wheel but no light comes on. The wheel is not "turned" on as if no power is getting through. The adaptar is warm though. I only paid $25 for it. :-) This is the "black" version with soft rubber on the wheel. I opened that sucker up and saw that it was gear driven!!!!!! Now, I want to get the old "red" cable-driven Wingman from JustDeal. My question is that would it run on WinXP? I once had that same wheel but forgot if it would work with a serial to USB converter???? Dumb question... was the latest driver installed? If it was, did you verify that XP had correctly identified it? The lights on the MOMO Racing won't light up unless XP has properly detected it, and the driver is loaded. Alan |

Yup. In fact, the Wingman software couldn't detect my wheel. If I remember correctly, the first light comes on when there is power. The second light turns on when it is detected by Windows. In my case, none of the light was on at all. |

Yup. In fact, the Wingman software couldn't detect my wheel. If I remember correctly, the first light comes on when there is power. The second light turns on when it is detected by Windows. In my case, none of the light was on at all. The first light (left one) comes on when the wheel's detected -and- has the driver properly installed. The second light comes on when force feedback is active. Was the wheel detected by Windows at all? If not picked up properly, it should at least appear in the Device Manager as a generic HID-Compliant device. Assuming it does, the next thing to do would be to uninstall the device listed, and unplug the wheel from the USB port. Then, run the Wingman installer (most recent of course), and wait until it gets to the part where it tries to detect the wheel. That's when you can plug it in. This isn't alway necessary, but I've found that the wheel sometimes isn't picked up properly if attached prior to installing the Wingman software. Also, I generally uninstall an old version prior to installing a newer one. Alan |
