Default Race2Play Rocks! - 01-30-2007 , 09:37 AM

If you haven't checked out Race2Play yet, you should. Nightly races
with large fields of good and courteous drivers. They run all types
of cars and mods.

www.race2play.com

Earlier this week we raced V8's at Sebring. Last night and tonight
there are Porsche mod races at Barcelona. Tomorrow night there is an
F1'79 race followed by a couple of F3 races. They also run GTR2 races
and oval events with rFactor.

Race2Play brings a level of organization to sim-racing that I haven't
seen since NROS/TEN. They keep track of all race results and assign
driver ranks across driving disciplines. Plus, the scope is a lot
larger since it's not just one type of car on ovals.

I signed up for a premium account, but you can join and race for free.

See you there!

Thanks for the heads-up, Pat. I'd done a couple of R2P events before but
had sort of let it drop off the radar since I hadn't been racing much since
the holidays. Saw your post tonight and managed to squeak into the GTC East
race at Hockenheim at the last minute. Fun racing, with good clean driving,
a nice race length (1hr) and a couple of mandatory tire stops. Plus, the
results, replay and post race comments are already up online - they do a
nice job indeed. I really do need to pay more attention to upcoming R2P
events.

Thx again,

SB

No problem Steve. Hope to see you in an rFactor race soon. I'm not
doing any GTR2 right now because I don't have the GS-1 seat working
with it yet (shouldn't be long though).

There is an F1'79 race tonight at Silverstone '79. Qualifying is at
8:30 eastern US time with the 21 lap race starting 15 minutes after
that. There are 12 drivers already entered. Get over to Race2Play
and sign up now!

Thanks - was out and missed that one, but probably just as well. Haven't
spent much time in rF of late; I've barely tried that mod and don't think I
have the track either. I'll have to check out the R2P schedule and see if I
can make sure I have what I need.

It's OK for me with a 7950 GX2 on a TH2Go.

The only problem I have is that the "draw distance" is too low, so
it's real noticable as the objects on the other side of the track
facility move in and out of the drawing area. That's not a video
issue, though. I could probably fix it in the fFactor display menu.

Does anyone else have a striped, weird looking screen on that track? ATI
X800 GTO here, Std. ATI drivers.

I have a problem with a striped sky at Silverstone '79. I even tried a sky
replacement and it didn't make any difference. I haven't seen the problem
with any other track so far.

I thought maybe it was the new nVidia drivers that I loaded but probably not
if you're seeing the same thing with ATI.

I have a GeForce 7800 GT with 93.71 drivers.

Oh, and I can't see any of Uwe's posts unless someone else replies to him.
