Default RBR CD or DVD - 09-10-2004 , 03:38 PM

I ordered RBR from www.sendit.com and the website says it's PC-CDROM but I've only heard of it being on DVD. I was wondering if anybody knows if RBR is available on PC-CDROM or not so I can buy a DVD drive before it arrives.

The official web site seems to suggest that both CD and DVD versions may be available.

Be safe buy a DVD drive.

Andi.

Hi Aaron,

I think it's DVD only (the box shot on amazon.de said PC-CDROM, but it
turned out to be a DVD-ROM). DVD-only goes along with the min space
requirements of 3,2 Gigs nicely, too ;-)

Cheers & good luck,

uwe

Hi, Uwe,

I ordered RBR from sendit.com, but it's now "On order" again.
Damn, I wanna play that sim NOW, so I'm gonna cancel. But before
I buy the German release, I'd like to know if it's multi-language
(incl. English) or is it just in German?

greetings
ronny

Hi Ronny,

Installation offers three languages: english, french and german. Make
sure you don't have a SiS 735 based mobo or a TSW2 wheel though as
there seem to be known problems in those circumstances.

Cheers,

uwe

Thanks for the answer, but too late. I just HAD to rush to Mediamarkt
and grab it with my sweaty little hands... and it runs on my PC!

I hope you get it working on your PC soon, as it's really the GPL of
rally sims. And this is not teasing you, just my first impression.

Thanks for not teasing me, as I've now got it working half way (albeit
the brake pedal) on my system. It really is a nice sim with a high fun
factor, and I really like the fact that you can choose english
navigator language in a german install. Just sounds "righter" than
having him waffling away in german ;-)

cheers,
uwe

Good news minus controller config. Why the hell do they always have
problems with that? It's really not rocket science, esp. using DirectX.
A few axis and a couple of buttons...

Well, as most Motorsports, Rally is international -> everybody speaks
English. And just remembering the "fine" translations I "enjoyed" over
the years in flight sims: yikes!
