"Iteration"? My god, how I hate that word. It ranks right up there
with "resonate" as two of the most overly-used words in the English
language.
'Cunt' is another, Alan.

Anyhow, I tried iRacing, using that 3-month dealie, and played ONCE.
The game is so restrictive. If I'm paying for something I want to be
able to create my own league and run what I want to run.

I believe that's about 5 weeks away i.e. the next *iteration* of iRacing
with leagues

Personally, after being on iRacing for a few months I wouldn't give you
2 cents for leagues anymore - I race when I please - when it suits me down
to the ground - not according to a restrictive league schedule.

not the money, could afford it easily. but you could laser scan a
track and add it to any other game, doesn't change the core aspect of
it. was just showing through the eyes of someone who races regularly
physics arent closer than another. guess it's because there was no
expansion of the core or more important segments of the software which
reflect the necessary items to make it feel and respond correctly.
data points for suspension, aero, shock, tires i guess are much more
detailed in the other software

I like it when people talk big when they are so anonymous. I wonder
if you'd call me that face-to-face?

But don't bother to reply. I blocked you, as I've done before.

By leagues I mean my own league, not something that iRacing creates.
That's one of the reasons I don't mess with iRacing. They want you to
pay for the service and then they tell you when you can race.

and, as I said, that changes in 5 weeks.

As with most things, it isn't for all people. Different people get
different value out of various products and services. It comes down to
the individual deciding for their own needs if it is worth the price at
the end of the day. For me I feel it is. If you are someone that wants
AI or other specific features then iRacing defintely isn't for you, but
that could be said for any sim if you want very specific features. It is
not the be all and end all sim the far right claim, nor is it the pos
ponzi scheme the left makes it out to be. One thing is for sure,
regardless of if you like it or not, it seems a number of people both
within and outside of the service feel it is important enough to
continually bring up, so it certainly remains on the radar be it good or
bad, when other sims and games come and go...
Let's face it - it is 2nd to none as a pure simulator but the HUGE
difference is the community aspect, forum and add a mix of real life drivers
and it's a clear winner - what more could you want?

Oh, and by the way, the Pro series, which is a feeder (top 50 qualify
for iDWC) for next years inaugural iRacind Drivers World Championship (iDWC)
is presently running. See Towler, Huttu, McLean, Purdy, etc going head to
head is a bit of a treat to say the least!

So what else is there that even comes close to stacking up to this? And
I'm serious - been out of the loop for a while. Is there anything else even
close?

as titled by you and other iponzi investors?. not sure i have ever
seen them in actual race cars performing at a similar level? so to
others, they're good at iracing, nothing more, than say the worlds
best mario brothers gamer? but i am sure it is entertaining, no more
than other race sims recorded before i imagine.

And if i'm not mistaken the winner of iRacing's TDI Series gets a full
boat free ride in the RL TDI Cup in the iRacing VW next year. That's
not friggin bad!!!
