Steve, I personally believe the Mods based on NascarRacing 2003 Season

like GTP have better play and are easy to have meaningful league play
then any of the ISI/rFactor based SIMs. Over the next year this may
change, however most leagues still use the NR2003 based SIMs. GTP is
having a little spurt now as many new people are coming in.

I sure havent had a lot of luck running GTL online and even less luck with
any more than 10-15 others (finding a server with that many racers is near
impossible anyway). Most of the same exact faults that caused such outrage
in GTR are still alive and well in GTL although for some reason much more
muted from the community. IMO GTL feels closer to GTR than rF even though
GTL looks nicer. rFactor is solid online but isnt quite as shiny

I personally can't come to grips with those cars and I can't figure out
why.

It seems like if I enter a particular corner at 78mph (for example),
I'm trundling around like an old lady and I'm not even warming up the
tires, if I enter the same corner at 80mph the car is undrivable, touch
the curb and you're off....etc 79mph is perfect.

I'm over stating the problem obviously but they seem to have a very
narrow performance band...

Indeed? I have been looking for a race at VROC and not finding much
action.

Gee our GPL league is sniffing around the same subject and are sort of
coming to the opposite conclusion..

rfactor has some classic tracks now (and more coming), all sorts of
eras and mods (GTL does one era but does it well), and I understood had
better support for larger feilds online (I could be wrong). Plus it's
got open wheel racing instead of just sedans and sports cars.

We're perfectly happy with GPL except every year we lose 1 or 2 drivers
and it's virtually impossible to replace them.

Considering you probably live on the wrong side of the pond (and are too
fast for me), but anyway, what league are you driving?

I'm on the left side but we have guys from each side along with a guy
from across another pond entirely (NZ) in our league.

And no I'm likely not too fast, but if I was our points system and
handicapping would put me in a slower car then you.... Come on out
to GPLRegulars, we're running GPL 67FV and 69F1 on alternating
Thursdays (EST).
