Default 1986 320i Prob - 12-15-2004 , 02:51 PM

My spare car is a very well loved 320i built in 86, its such a gem and looks
so fab that i just cannot get rid of it and use it from time to time as i
just enjoy driving the thing, crazy eh?

Anyway i have noticed quite a vibration from the rear especially with low
revs, once you increase power its fine.
Today to add to the problem there was a distinctive 'clunk' sound when i
changed up from 1st to 2nd which has made me think its something major.
It sounds like its coming from the rear axle.

It just passed it MOT 7 days ago but i fear the worse .

Any ideas?

Thanks Gilly & Rob

Drivetrain 'clunk'? Diff on the way out?

Probably not too expensive.

Oh, if you're interested in selling it, I could be tempted ;-)

Not crazy - great little car.
You probably have a driveshaft or axle u-joint going (already gone) bad. I
wouldn't drive it untill it's fixed, it could come out & leave you
stranded.
