Yesterday I got in and turned the key and just got a clicking noise. I put a voltmetre on the battery and it read about 9.2 volts. So I charged it via the jump start connections under the bonnet and then it was fine. However, now the stereo won't turn on. It just doesn't respond to the push button to turn it on. It still shows the time on the display, which is backlit when the headlights are on. Is there a connection with the low batter and recharge, or just a coincidence? Any ideas? Only thing that happens to my E39 radio if you disconnect the battery is you lose the station memory. |

The battery obviously did get that low, as now that I've got the radio working again it still has all the stations in memory. I think it's just a coincidence that the CD changer stoped working at the same time. It just won't repsond. It won't play anything, and I still can't get it to eject the CD cartridge. |
