They gave me pricing and part numbers of the SIRIS Satellite Radio installation. I really want this to be integrated into my next BMW.. anyone else have this upgrade? Comments? I ordered it when I ordered my 545. That was early this year and the only thing they did in Germany was pre-wire it and the receiver itself was installed here in the states. I don't know if that is still the sequence or not. I really enjoy it. More than XM, which I have in my work vehicle. Sirius hasn't nearly the commercial breaks that XM does. On another note, for those who enjoy talk radio, you could say that Sirius is CNN and XM is Fox News. Each is somewhat tilted in their political bent. I happen to be a bit more liberal than conservative so Sirius is more my style. You lose your signal almost any time you don't have line of sight to the sky. But the signal is crisp and clear all other times. I have never yet been anywhere where the signal is weak or filled with disturbance....in my experience you either have it or you don't. So when siiting under a flyover, going thru a tunnel, pulling into your garage...you will likely lose the radio. Once you have line of sight the signal is back in a second or two. The music selection is really quite extraordinary. I find it worth the money, in fact I'll pay almost anything to get away from the constant banter and commercials of "free" radio. And no matter where I go in the country my favorite stations will still play in my car. I recommend it. |

PS: One thing to know...there isn't a better sat radio interface than I-Drive. No matter what anyone thinks about I-Drive the simple fact is that it is a superior sat radio interface. |
