I've got a 1996 528SE with climate control and yesterday the blower fan stopped working on me. The electronic controls seem to be working fine but the fan's still not working. I've checked the fuse (number 28 per the list that accompanies the panel) and it looks ok - must admit haven't taken it out and tested it but it doesn't look burnt out at all. anyone any ideas what to look for next? |

UK price is about 50gbp, and fitting it a fairly easy DIY job. If you do a google search on final stage resistor you should get chapter and verse - it's a very common failure. -- *Forget the Joneses, I keep us up with the Simpsons. If it were the resistor pack, then speed 3 wouldn't work either, unless it is a problem with corroded connectors. The coil resistors affect the lower speeds by adding resistance, but there is no resistance to the highest setting. |
