Default wrong wheel locking * thingy - 02-07-2007 , 11:20 AM

I couldnt find the adapter for the wheel brace anywhere in my e34 96
touring...and its differant to my salloon...bugger me sideways

I called a place called Quarry motors here in Sheffield, and they said i
would have to call BMW with the chassis # does that make sense? i cant see
the records inc the type of locking bolt. They say there are about 50 diff
ones

I looked in the boot tool section, its not there, and theres nothing in the
right as in my salloon, on the touring its where the water bottle is, and on
the left side...nothing...ok i cant even find the jack etc...

i have to replace a tyre urgent but im up the creek without a paaa.....

You had a look in the tray under the load area floor? There are _2_
sections. The section nearest the rear seat is where the wheel key and wheel
centre tool live. The front section lifts to reveal the spare wheel and
jack.

No probs. It is very well hidden. I only found it because of a really bad
smell from spilled milk (enthusiastic driving home from supermarket!). I
cleaned out all of the spare wheel well and carpet but still the smell
remained. Took me a week to suss out the second hidden compartment as I
didn't have a handbook at the time.
