Default Delivering the mail - 10-20-2004 , 09:58 PM

I am considering a job as a rural part-time mail deliverer. The catch is
that I need a car that will allow me to reach the mailboxes on the right
side of the car. Plus I will need a fair amout of space to carry the mail.
Maybe something with a bench seat (so I could sit in the middle and/or slide
over as needed)? Or a vehicle with the driver's seat on the right? A used
mail truck? This will probably only be used for this job so it won't need
to go long distances, but it will need to get around in tough New England
winters. For a part time job I won't be able to justify spending a lot of
money. Any thoughts on what type of car would be suitable?

Since you're not going to use the vehicle for anything else, it might as
well be one that was made for the task. Get a used mail truck

Alternate solution:
Pantograph or other extending arm mounted to the floor or inside of the
roof, to grab the mail and put it into mailbox, along with a hook on
another pole to open/close the mailbox door.
