I have a 96 Subaru with 4 Bridgestone tires. The other day I noticed a bubble on the side of one of the tires, so I took the car into the tire dealer that I bought the original tires from. He said that 3 of the tires (including the damaged one) are close to the 60k mile limit and getting pretty bald. The 4th tire was purchased last year because of damage to the original and therefore in fairly new condition. The dealer recommended buying 3 replacement tires and keeping the one newer tire. My Subaru has all-wheel drive. Should I follow his recommendation or buy a complete set of 4 tires instead using the newer tire as a spare? Thanks for any advice. what does the current spare look like? |

The question is, what condition is your current spare in? BTW, If you have a "baby" spare, then using the extra tire won't work, because it won't fit in the trunk properly. |
