Unlike safeties for commercial vehicles which are valid anywhere in North America, Provincial safeties are valid only in the Province that issued the safety. An Ontario (or any other Province) safety is only good with Ontario plates on the car. Want Alberta or anywhere else's plates on the car, you will need a new safety to get the new plate. I sent my kid in Calgary a car with fresh Manitoba safety. Wasted my money getting it. It needed to be resafetied in Alberta. When all the provinces get it together to recognize a federal safety program then that will be a whole nother story. Pete |
