Default Volvo V70 T5 against Lexus 2003 RX300 - 03-22-2007 , 01:36 PM

Hi there,
I am in process of buying a second hand Volvo V70 T5 (2005) in
Houston
USA.
The car has 40K mile on it. I looked at the CarFax report. It shows
the first owner put 38K clicks on it within one year, and the second
owner had it for one moth and added 2000 clicks. Close to 9 months
car
was in Dealership before it was sold to the first owner, and three
months when it was out for resale in Houston.
The car looks great and is certified by Volvo dealership. I like the
car and its looks. However there are some concerns that I appreciate
if you can share your opinios
1- Don't you think that 40 K/year is too much for a car? Is this car
reliable even if it is certified by dealership?
2- I have noticed that Volvo discontinued V70 T5 (which is tubo
charge
engine) as of 2006. Do you have any idea about the good/bad things of
Turbo engines? A dealer told me that tubo engines are proned to
failure often as they are under too much load.

My another option is to go with Lexus 2003 RX 300. The car does have
28K clicks and is certified. It looks great. BUT I like Volvo and its
known safety features. Any idea on this?

I know that these two cars are from different classes. But this is not
a problem. I want to have a car which will be trouble free and safe
and fun to drive.

I appreciate your help.
