Default 1.25 16v duratec dohc = Zetec-SE class engine? - 04-01-2007 , 02:11 AM

the basic mk7 fiesta 1.25litre engine used to be an 8v duratec .
Now ford will is using 1.25 litre 16v duratec dohc.

from wikipedia i found the 8v was an "endura" class duratec.
Anyone know what type of lump the 16v is. A sigma class Zetec-SE?

cheers

No it wasn't. It was originally a 1.25 Zetec-SE, Ford then changed the name
to a Duratec 16v.

Yes, in the Ka it is. The 60 PS Duratec 8v is a badge engineered (think:
Alfa Romeo 156 / Fiat Tipo) Endura-E. But the 1.3 is a very different
engine to the 1.25. As some of the articles allude, the 1.25 is much bigger
and a squeeze to get it under the Ka's bonnet. It is possible, but it's
harder.

Yes.

The WikiPedia article should include the Duratec 16v engine. I've amended
some very limited bits, if I pull my finger out I'll do the rest.

Blowing my own trumpet:

www.dervman.com/zetecseengine.htm

These articles won't tell you much though. )
