Default Deep scratch repair - 05-14-2007 , 12:42 PM

I have a deep scratch along the drivers side of my door and on bumper which
was there when I bought the. Anyway I'm contemplating fixing it myself as I
have some free time but its been a few years since I have done much in the
way of scratches and dent fixing. I have read the back of a few products in
halfords which might not be the greatest place to buy these products but it
as local and convinient. There was a products called "isopon" which has a
certain amount of flex in it for bumper repairs which sounds like it might
be the one can anybody recommend this product ?

For the deep scratch in the door there is something called P38 which I
belive has been around a long time and think it might be what I need ?

Any advice on what products to use would be welcomed. It probably would be
cheaper and easier taking it to a body shop but I want to sort it out
myself. I have some sparaying experience (airbrushing, spray guns etc) so
the painting side is no problem and its not metalic either.

thanks

Best stuff for scratch filling I've found is polyester filler. Think
Halfords sell it. It doesn't shrink and remains flexible. The sort of
products you're mentioning are more for filling larger dents - but don't
provide a perfect surface for subsequent painting.

Isopon is the standard body filler and is excellent. P38 is just normal
Isopon (Isopon being a trade name) and is what you need.

Halfords sell it in tube for a dear £6 check out motor factors sometimes
they have tins for fair prices.
