Default parts help needed - air intake - 04-08-2007 , 12:31 PM

parts help needed - air intake

not being great on the modern cars (im getting old ;-) ))

i thought i would see if anyone can tell what these parts are and what they
are for.
i have uploaded 2 pictures to
http://s170.photobucket.com/albums/u257/banjo_14/

there are 2 pictures of the same, its just that the small one is 577kb in
size and the other is 4.5mb in size,
so you can choise which one to look at.

i have numbered the parts 1 and 2 on black arrows,

Should be something along the lines of a X16SZR engine code then.

It's most likely the sensor, but the only real way to know is by checking
the value the ECU is seeing.
Check the reading, if it doesn't seem plausible, try unplugging the sensor
and see what happens.
Then bridge the contacts on the connector and see what happens.
If the reading changes, the sensors faulty, if nothing happens, it's a
wiring fault.

You can also check one side of the wiring by checking that there is a 5v
feed on one of the wires.

i only have a draper code reader, so i am unable to read the sensors/ecu in
real-time. just the codes after the fact.
i would love to have a setup on my laptop to read everything,
but there are so many of them and they seem to do differant things.thus i
have no idea what to buy for my lappy;

I think that code means your oil filler cap is on upside down.
