Default Fecking Leaseplan - 05-11-2007 , 05:09 AM

To save some money, Leaseplan wanted me to send the Passat to one of
their garages rather than a VW dealer for it's 50k mile service this
week. [1]

I booked it as a collect and return, sorted out insurance to use my 75
for business today and got my arse out of bed so I was ready for the
collection, between 9am and 11am this morning.

Only the fuckers haven't turned up.

So, that's a completely wasted day, then.

Next time, I'll insist it goes to VW - at least I'lll get a courtesy
car, even if it's a 1.2 Polo.

[1] Strange decision, given that VAG own 50% of Leaseplan.

Gotta say, I'm quite impressed you bothered to do that - most people I
know wouldn't even consider checking their policy for that, let alone
actually arrange the cover.

<raises hand quietly>

I have to admit I probably wouldn't just for a day :-$ I did used to have
Class 1 business use included for free actually tho, I don't know what Class
1 is and I'm pretty sure I don't still have it.

I didn't do it on my insurance - I checked with the company policy
first, 'cos there's a clause that says something like 'any vehicle under
the control of an employee'.

However, I can add business use for nothing to my classic policy - I
didn't bother at the last renewal, though.

If the company policy covers me anyway, there's no point in adding it.

But yes, I was aware of the fact that I needed it - especially as I
would have company POS in the boot meaning I couldn't really claim
private use if anything did happen.

I would - it'd be just my luck for it to fuck up in my face if I
didn't.

You're not doing your image any good here.
We can't all be international 'professionals' with Ford Exploders, you
know. Not that most of us would want to be, if it meant driving an
Exploder.

FWIW, I ordered some stuff to be delivered straight to me, 'cos stores
have a habit of losing things if you courier it in to them. It's not
uncommon for retail area managers to do this.

Yea mine too heh. In my defence, I just probably wouldn't even think about
it.
