Default Hello, I'm new! - 03-11-2007 , 05:21 PM

Hello everyone

Now I realise I am not technically 'one of you' because I'm not bit on heavy
car modification but I would like to personalise my car a little. I drive a
Mazda 6 and due to tattyness I have recently changed the handbrake lever and
gearstick gator. Yes, even from here I can hear you laughing but am
interesting in what else is out there. Can anyone point me in the direction
of some websites that have Mazda 6 things? I have tried Googling but I can't
make head nor tail of the stuff on the sites I found. It all seems to be for
people who know what they are looking for. Well, except that one website.
Why was she doing that kind of stuff with a horse?

Hope you can help me

Ian

Get some clear rear light clusters...

How about some Neons?

I don't know of any websites where you can get what you're looking for but:

Mazda 6 will be a tricky car to find stuff for, I think they're
generally owned by lease companies or old people in this country,
neither of whom like to modify their cars particularly.

Mazda dealers themselves might have an accessories or "motorsport"
catalogue you can have a look at with various go faster gearknobs and
padded steering wheel covers in it. IME many marques do.

Why not save up and buy some other car if you want to change the one
you've got that much?

Aparrently we do, I don't recall ever seeing one but I might not know if
I had, they look reasonably subtle. List price £24,000

Yep, we do. I like them. A couple of years time, they'll be available
for sensible money... /rubs hands/

That's just my point, I don't want to change it too much. My interest was
not in modification but in personalisation a level or two about the cheap
crap from Halfords.

Yes, and the 2.3 160 bhp models too - but save for some very minor
differences they look very similar to the ordinary ones.

All sorts, absolutely all sorts.

Not really. If you want to personalise your car, you have two options. No,
three. One is to buy generic stuff. Two is to buy Mazda stuff. Three is
to make it yourself.

In article <55lsdnF25c9k4U1 (AT) mid (DOT) individual.net>, douggie (AT) cheerful (DOT) com
says...

An overfinch rangie is personalised, a Luton Chav Frontera with Neons
and leaf spring raiser blocks is modified.

Personalising can be subtle, and not show beyond what a real anorak
might spot. Modifications are always meant to be in your face.
