Default top tip! - 08-19-2005 , 07:08 AM

went to see my solicitor, he reckons........ i'm pretty fucked lol

anyway a top tip he did give me is if you get caught going VERY VERY fast
send the paper work off and sign it where it says it's ok for them to make a
decision without me. he said because of the speed they won't do that and
i'll get a new date probably 2-3 weeks later than my current date.

gonna do that, he's gonna come to court with me to. he reckons if he can
make it VERY clear that i need the car for work he maybe able to get the ban
down but i will get a ban he said and he reckons it'll be a 3 month one and
that's if there being nice! yikes! could be bye bye MR2 after this

If you get the option plead guilty by post as they can no ban you unless you are
there.

Wear a suit.
Get your employers to write you a letter saying you will be sacked if you get
more then a 2 week ban.
Sell the MR2 (you will never get insured on in anyway after your ban) and buy a
shite old Cosra Diesel make them aware you have done this because you are full
of remorse and want to remove any temptation to exceed the speed limit.

If you are lucky you will only get two weeks, if not remmeber if you drop the
soap in the showers do not pick it up ;-)

Vamp, you would be an idiot to keep the MR2... unless you can wangle it so
you sell it to a friend of the family (and for gods sake not some one in
your immediate family!) and then buy it back off them at a later date.

If they can see you have learnt your lesson, it's reasonable to assume they
will not press heavy charges... but if yo keep the MR2 you are almost
painting a bulls eye on your head. I don't know how many other people have
to tell you this, before you realise that you arn't going to be able to
retain ownership of the MR2 during the period of your trial.

Why not? it's his first offence, as long as he learns his lesson from it
which he will guaranteed

I say keep the MR2, you will get a 3 month ban which is 90 days, yes it will
be the longest 90 days of your life but it's not the end of the world, your
old enough now to know what you did was stupid.

Your insurance wont go up astronomical, it's not like you killed anyone or
drink driving, it's a one off speeding ticket.

Just explain to the judge you are sorry, you have learnt from your mistakes
and you except the ban, you will enjoy the 90 days of not driving anyway
you can use your bike, or suffer the wrath of public transport, which will
soon stop you speeding again, perhaps mention it in court a little humour
helps. You will certainly feel fitter.

i'm not selling the car, the solicitor is gonna to get a statement to what
happened from me. i'm sending off the form pleading guilty by post as they
need me there for a ban they'll arange me a new date this buy's me some
time.
he said he's going to see what he can do, he might be able to reduce a ban
arguing it could affect my employment but it won't be easy as they'll know
about the previous offence on the same road in January D'oh!!!

Trial? It's a speeding conviction, not a bleedin' murder enquiry!

You drove like a twat on a road known for speed traps, they are going to nail
your nads to a tree if you do not do everything you can think of to placate the
magistrates.

It is not as if you will be able to insure the thing anyway.

Twice FFS ! Even more reason to out the MR2.

FWIW I've been up twice, both times for over a ton, last one I told them I sold
the Impreza and got a old VW camper, big fine but no fine.
