Default OT Halfords - 08-19-2005 , 05:53 AM

You all know I don't work for Halfrauds and have a healthy contempt for
the organisation (especially as my local motor factor across the road
from them recently died a Halfrauds inflicted death).

But their current deals on camping gear (and some other bits and bobs)
are insanely cheap. I went to the till with a sub 3kg 2 man tent that I
thought was cheap at £25 to find it was £12.50. I also bought one of
those inflatable sleeping mats (which are more comfy, lighter and less
bulky to carry than the oldskool roll up ones) for a tenner. Then I
found a sleeping bag that both packs smaller and is lighter than the
£50 karrimor one I was considering, but for £15.

I'm not that serious about camping and I've already got all the camping
gear I need but everything I bought is a lot lighter and smaller than
what I already have and I'm off backpacking soon so Halfrauds saved me
a bloody fortune.

Oh and I noticed they had Thule bike racks for £20 as well which is
bloody cheap, especially for that brand. Probably some other diamond
deals but I can't stand to be inside a Halfrauds store for too long so
I grabbed the bargains and left!

We did the same thing at the end of last summer. Massive 4 man tent for
something like £40 I think it was. Still havent used it properly, but
hopefully going touring in the MR2 next month

Hypocrite.

Pretty damn easily actually. The MR2s boot is a really good shape for
putting stuff like that in, not to mention theres a boot at the front too
for putting smaller things in!

It's all planned and we reckon we can everything we need for a week into the
MR2!

How many Autofactors sell camping gear?
Quite a few - the Charlie Browns / Motorwold type places certainly do in
the larger branches.
