Ok here's a little tip of the day, Change networks to Vodafone, they are the best for reception, get a PAYG sim card and then activate Stop the clock, callling abroad, and friends and family. What you get is, speak for 1 hour and only pay for 3 mins all weeked and evenings, also if you spend over 5 quid a week you get free calls and texts all weekend, then activate your 5 best numbers, this costs 5 quid a month but you can call those 5 numbers (on vodafone) for free 24hrs a day 7 days a week, plus you get cheap calls abroad. I have saved a small fortune doing this. But I still have my contract rolling at £15.00 a month to get my "free" phone every 12 months In total I spend £25.00 a month but i call well over 2k mins a month as I am away from the missus all week and only home on weekends. The same package would cost me over £50 |

The same package would cost me over £50 Tell me more. I'm currently paying Voda 25 quid a month in return for 200 minutes, Stop the clock, 200 texts and it looks like free GPRS, which is nice, as it means I can always read the Telegraph on the shitter. |

Just rang em and badgered em - keep the same handset and plan, 12 month contract, 9 months half price, and a free SE Bluetooth headset, so I can look a twat but evade arrest. Quite pleased with that. |

Whilst we're on the subject, does anyone know of a decent PAYG deal? I've got a rubber phone I use for outdoors stuff and I'd like to not have to bother swapping SIMs. |

The not being arrested bit or looking like you're part of the Borg collective? For what it's worth I don't see myself when I wear my headset, so I can live with it... |

I've also discovered that their international calling charges are reasonable too. |
