No thanks, prefer the look of the Rover. Besides 1.4 ton is closer to the SD1's weight, definately not 2! And they love nitrous, compression hikes, and different/better/bigger/downdraft carbs... Been looking at replacement carbs on the Rimmer Bros site. Niiiice! |

A bit more effort to fit than new carbs, though, but more power too without having to fill up at every garage - the four barrel carb conversions just drink petrol. Is that all? That's pretty damn good. |

the RR parts which are near identical. Most have been scrapped. The twin
plenum setup will cost over 500, though - if you can find one.

Well he's included a couple of ball joints in the auction, so that's a good start. But since my Dad now owns an MoT station, it makes getting shonky MOTs on heaps of junk much easier. Post corrected :-P You know where to take the 156 now then :-p |

Oooops!! I bought the Manta, BX and SD1 on ebay without looking at them first. BX and Manta turned out to be ok, so lets hope the SD1 does. But, each of those cars have been <£600, so not huge amounts of money. But also quite rare, so my view was it's better to bid and hopefully win without looking than not getting the car at all. If it's a complete dog when you get there you can still walk away! |
particular model, and ask questions that, assuming they've been answered
honestly, should give away at least some telltale signs that it's knackered
in some respect or other. If they turn out to have obviously lied in
response to those questions, then you've got a valid reason to walk away.

restoration.
The Octavia was a peach, but boring and I needed a bargain bucket auto.
I'll see how the Rangie does, but it drives OK for a proper offroader.
