In summnation I'd find it slightly less embarrassing to be known to
drive an XR2/3/4/6/8 than to be known as the Overlord of the UK Quake
World Custom Map League!

What an extraordinary non post.

Saddo geek
Even sadder was the thrashing we got every week, 2nd div was just about our
"level"

Strange. Some things are easy to find on t'internet, some things, well
they're not...

My Xbox is a great DVD player...

It's "Webb" actually.

2. Lordy used to be a serious computer geek more into computer

Incorrect.
No, hang on - that's quite possibly true actually.

4. Lordy was Chief Admin of the UK Quake World Custom Map League

Oh no, you've outed me, I feel so dirty. It's a good job there isn't a
wiki page or anything out there on the internet giving full details.

Oh, there is ? Bugger.

5. Lordy once hosted website http://www.overlord-uk.com/
sadly now defunct :-(

Very sad indeed, from my perspective. The great age of Quakeworld died
as the internet took off and started to become flooded with morons ('lo
Ken). I am a habitual hoarder though and still have a copy of it, along
with demos of every QW game every played in the Thrash.

You've got me reminiscing now, I may go and watch some later.

...embarrassing to be known to known as the Overlord of the UK
Quake World Custom Map League!

Actually I'm quite proud of the fact that, as a young man discovering
the internet, I organised and ran a nationwide competition with members
not only from across this country, but from across the globe (bloody
foreigners don't appear to understand the meaning of the word
"national".

It was an achievement large enough to get noticed and supported by three
internet providers, put it that way (bearing in mind that this was 1999
and ISPs were not 10 a penny back then). Coupled with the fact that
between us we travelled around the country together hosting many LANs at
each other's houses. As far as online buddies go, we were a tight knit
bunch.

But, assuming you are actually the real Ken, you wouldn't really know
about friends. Ah well, you know what they say - "few more years under
the belt and it will become clear".

No not really, the games were written for such slow connection speeds.

What's wrong with the xbox? My son (who's seven) has the xbox1 and a 360!!

Best thing is, you can "acquire" the games for free!

Sorry I didn't finish it. Actually I can re-phrase it.

I buy my favourite software, I rent games I'm unsure, and if I ever try a
pirate copy it's on somebody elses' hardware... :-)

Bugger off, I'm still not talking to you

That deserves a well exercised "heh" you know.

Sell the Subaru, buy a B5 Passat with Alfa Romeo running gear and a Primera
badge, nothing could be quicker.
