Default Six fascinating facts and some dark skeletons from Lordy.UK's closet! - 02-23-2007 , 01:22 PM

1. Lordy's real name is Phil Web.

2. Lordy used to be a serious computer geek more into computer games than
cars.

As this old post shows:

Just how do I decide where the "camera" will be and where it will point when

Quote:
a level ends?

I assume it has something to do with the worldspawn, but using Worldcraft,

I've never seen any way to decide it's postion or angle...

It's just an entity you put in there, exactly the same as an RL, box of

rockets or whatever.

It's called info_intermission. Just place it where you want and set the

angle as you would any other entity in Worldcraft.

Dear, oh dear.

3. Lordy used to sign himself off on Usenet as Overlord.UK

4. Lordy was Chief Admin of the UK Quake World Custom Map League

5. Lordy once hosted website http://www.overlord-uk.com/ sadly now defunct
:-(

6. Lordy once slagged off Ford XR owners on Usenet namely:

"But that's another bad point against it. No-one in their right mind wants

the image of an XR driver...

Ah well, few more years under the belt and it will become clear "

In summnation I'd find it slightly less embarrassing to be known to drive an
XR2/3/4/6/8 than to be known as the Overlord of the UK Quake World Custom
Map League!

k.

I'm not convinced you're the real Chris 'Ken' Stevens you know... Your
posting style seemed wrong, and you were far too accurate with your spelling
and grammar.

Or it could be the real Ken, but actually taking his meds..

If we're "outing" Quake players, I used to play in Div1 in the UKCCL
Why don't I feel dirty ?

Wasn't actually, he spelt my name wrong.

But yes, he "outed" the well known fact that I was a Quake player and
ran the ClaraNET Thrash. Most people already know this however, as it
used to be in my Sig (even in this group). It's nice of him to finally
catch up though, even if he is 7 years too late.

Ah happy days, I even won quite a bit of prize money playing that Q3 in
competitions. I still play Q3 even now and can be found using the super-
secret name "Lordy.UK" to make sure people don't realise it's me. How
sneaky am I.

But the shame of playing Quake, how will I ever live it down

On these long days in hospital. I play World of Warcraft. Let's face it,
anyone reading this is using Usenet which is about the geekiest thing one
can do anyway...

He also missed one key point: your use of the expression "heh." Quite a
critical omission that. Its influence lives on...

Indeed, that actually stems from the UKCML, it was one of the group's
catchphrases.

Bonus points available to anyone who can tell me which QW clan I was
in...

Yes. It's one of those expressions that has crept into my office thanks to
my influence.

Along with exclaiming "fannies" when something terrible happens, like we run
out of tea.
