Next weeks episode looks like it could be interesting!
Oh, and it was good to see a tribute to Richard Burns - brought a
tear to
my
eye! Everyone seems to be wrapped up in that twat Best, when we
should
be
mourning a real sporting star who was actually a good role model
rather
than
a piss head who could kick a ball 30 years ago!

Hmmmm.

99% of the population wouldn't know who Richard Burns was. Although he
was a fucking good rally driver, he wasn't anything special, he didn't
do anything groundbreaking.

Best, on the other hand, was the first true megastar in football - not
only was he arguably the greatest player ever to grace a football
field,
but he also established the trend of footballers as household
personalities. *Everyone* knows who George Best was.
--
Well Burns was a world champion in his sport, with still plenty of
talent
remaining and was cut down in his prime. Not to mention a top geezer
too.
Best was a football has-been who drank himself to death, and deserved to
die
IMHO.
I havent seen anything on TV about Burns, and just one little mention on
the
radio. Best is all over the press everytime you look at it. It was a
refreshing change to hear about Burns, with no mention of Best!

The words 'know nothing fuckwit' spring to mind at this point.

Do explain why

because steve says so, i think if you actually look up the term you just see
a pic of SteveH and an alfa

I can only assume you know fuck all about football.

It's pointless even trying to explain.
Actually that's where you are wrong. I know Best was an amazing footballer
blah blah blah, we hear it every day, but that was decades ago, since then
he has completely fucked his body, and despite warnings he kept going and
eventually it killed him. Hence, it's his own fault. The only people I
feel sorry for is his family and the person who missed out on the liver that
he got, couldnt give a shit about the man himself.

Whereas Burns was a young man in the middle of his career and died through
no fault of his own. He faught the illness, but eventually got the better
of him. OK, Burn's is not as well known as Best, and I wouldnt expect huge
media coverage, but his death is the real tragedy.

How much is a Zonda?

440K for the F.

Enough for two and a half examples of a 288 GTO.

http://atsearch.autotrader.co.uk/WWW...00534204421274
Sorted, then....

So, that's a 288GTO, an E28 M5, Alfa Montreal, Lancia Delta S4 Stradale,
a couple of Ducatis and an apartment in Portugal with secure parking.

Thing is.... if you look beyond the alcoholism, there's very few people
who'll have a bad word to say against him. He was also influential to
millions of people - without Best we'd never have seen the national game
raised to such a high profile. He was the greatest player ever to have
played football, he lived life how most of us would live it if we
suddenly found ourselves in that sort of position.

Yes, it was a tragedy, but, putting it into perspective, Burns was just
another rally driver - he wasn't the best ever, he wasn't in the
spotlight whilst alive. This explains the difference in coverage.

There's another strike against him.

I know enough. Best got a second chance - something a lot of people don't
get, and still drank himself to death.

Boo-fucking-hoo.

Best on ukrcm!

Thought it was OK tonight - not as funny as last week, and I thought
a 3 minute review of the Zonda F was cutting it a bit short.... And
how sick are you of JC's Stig routine: "Some say he's almost as
tedious as me; all we know as that we make him wear a helmet all the
time"

I think the 3 mins on the Zonda was about right, given that they seem
to feature one in every fucking episode. I'm sick of hearing 'Zonda
this, Zonda that' - they may be fast, but they're brash, tacky and
ugly.
Steve H in "Italian car not utterly perfect in every way" shocker.

I would have happily listened to that thing sing for an hour. Those Germans
don't half know how to make a nice sounding engine....

If I'm spending that kind of money on a car, I want looks, not
some ugly, gimmicky thing like a Zonda.

Given that money to spend on cars, there'd be an M5, an R55AMG, a
brabus CLSV12 Rocket, an F430 and a Volvo C70 outside. And maybe
some change.

M5, possibly, but only if it was an E28.

Other than that, no, none of those do anything for me.
I like the E28 M5, but I can't abide the bodykit on most M535Is

Quote:
not even the italian one?

Or the super-nutty Brabus.

No.
I wouldn't go for the CLS, I'd want a V12 E class estate... that EV12 passed
me again the other day.. Christ it sounds fucking awesome.

I'd probably have to be very disciplined in buying a Ferrari, just to
keep me to a single example.
I wouldn't, I'd have a 456 GT in that funky titanium grey they do 'em in.
Quote:
How much is a Zonda? - I'm assuming I couldn't have an F40 and still
have money for other cars, so I suppose I'd have to settle for a
512BB.
Yeurgh, I drove one once. Almost as 'orrible as a 512M to drive.

I really want a 288GTO, though.
Woo, taste from the H bloke!
