No sign. I rang the english guy that came with them, and he rejected the
call.

I've texted him "I take it they don't want the Octavia then?" I expect
that to get ignored too.

Unlucky, I hate cunts like that. What's so hard about calling and just
saying you've changed your mind.

Exactley. I have someone who was quite happy to wait until the auction
finished and come over thursday if it didn't.

But because they said "Yeah, OK" and agreed a price, I pulled the
auction because there was 18 hours to go and didn't want a bid on it as
they had agreed and shook on it. Remember when someones word accompanied
with a handshake mean't something when buying or selling cars.

Awww never do that. Always wait till you have the cash, you can cancel the
auction any time up until the end.

o yes you can

Nope. If there is a bid, or reserve has been met, you can end it in the
last 12 hours

Ooops, that of course should be "Can't end it in the last 12 hours".

The item was lost or broken.

You might end your listing early because:

a.. The item is no longer available for sale. (Please note that you
shouldn't list an item on eBay if there's a chance you'll sell it elsewhere
before the listing ends.)

b.. There was an error in the starting price or reserve amount (and it's
too late to change the reserve amount).

c.. There was an error in the listing.

d.. The item was lost or broken.

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/qu...dlist-now.html

"There are some situations where you may not end your listing early. For
detailed information about the rules and policies on ending a listing,
see Ending Your Listing Early.

Note: You don't need to email us to tell us why you ended a listing
early. However, please tell any bidders as soon as you realise you'll
need to end the listing.

If you need to change your listing: Please try to edit your listing if
you want to fix a mistake or improve your listing. You can't change the
date on which your listing ends.

If it's too late to edit or end your listing, for example, it's less
than 12 hours before the end of the auction, you must contact any
bidders to explain what's happened."

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/end_early.html

"You can't end a listing less than 12 hours before the end of the
listing if the item has a winning bid:

* You may cancel bids, but not end the item unless you are selling
the item to the high bidder. To do this, go to the End My Listing Early
form and select "Sell to the high bidder".
* You can't add to or change the item description.
* You can't convert the item to "pre-approved bidders" only"

:-) happens to the best of us

btw, i used point D, with less that 12 hours and a high bidder. you cant
sell whats broke.
d.. The item was lost or broken.

I did sell car to a local, hence used it to get it off ebay and it was ok. 2
months ago.

Hmm, it does say though in the ending early section, it does say you can
cancel bids, but not end it (D. broken) within 12hours, but you have to
tell them.

I just didn't fancy them turning up to pay fit it but not ring, after it
had been bid on and another punter waiting to collect it. Last thing I
wanted to try to explain to a non english speaking pole that the car he
wanted had been sold to someone else, but they hadn't paid for it
either, but it was theirs not his.
