I just noticed yesterday: yes, the AC does cycle on and off
erratically. (I’ve been just rolling down the windows, but yesterday I
put it on becuase it was so hot.) The AC is still pretty cold (colder
than the window unit in my house), so I don’t think it has a low
charge. I’ll look into the vacuum leak and reply with anything I find.

I have a 1997 Malibu and have had the same vibration. I have had the dealer
change the engine mounts twice and myself twice. You might want to see if
they are broke.
