I have a 1999 Monte Carlo that does not turn over at all. I thought maybe
the starter was frozen (live in the Boston area), so I had someone turn the
key while I hit it with a hammer. There haven't been any signs of the car
not starting, or taking longer than normal to start.

The security light on the dashboard blinks, but the book only makes
reference to it 'staying on'. I tried both of my keys in case the pellet
resistor broke on one key with no luck.

Is there anyway of verifying it's the security system and/or bypassing the
computer having to detect the pellet resistor on the key?
