If this really becomes an issue, like to the point where the car won't start
every time you go to get in it and you end up waiting 10 mins every time,
there is a way around it. It will involve wiring in a anti-theft bypass
module, or one of these;

is just one of the many devices available, basically it is just the same as
the bypass device you need when you install a remote starter in your
vehicle, and the vehicle uses a resistor in the key for security (VATS or
Passlock system for GM). All it does is read the resistance from the
factory key and program itself so that the next time you insert a key, it
does not need to read the resistor and will let you start the vehicle,
regardless of whether the ignition sensor is worn out or not. The older
units require you to buy a second key and have it programmed, then you
insert it inside the device so that it does the same thing. Fortunately,
the older ones are becoming obsolete because of the expense of buying a
second, or sometimes third key.

If you don't want to buy new, you should be able to find a used device on
Ebay for $15-$20. I know around here, they can be bought at Walmart for
around $30. Probably a bit more expensive for a better quality device.
Make sure if you are the one wiring it, to make good, secure wiring
connections, or you may end up with bigger headaches than you had in the
first place.
