Default 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt - 03-03-2007 , 11:04 PM

I have 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt sedan just the base model with I believe
Power brakes. Every now and then the brake light flashes on and goes
off. I have had the car looked at but the dealership can't find
anything wrong with the car. I don't think they are checking the
brakes but just checking the computer. Can anyone suggest what may be
wrong with the brakes?

I presume you mean the panel brake light, not
the tail brake light.
Have you checked the brake resevoir fluid level?
There may be a sensor that means the brakes
need service. Take it to someplace and have
the brakes checked (pads, shoes).

Yes I mean the panel brake light and the people at the dealership said
the fluid level was fine.

snip
Pads and shoes will need replacement at
about 30,000 miles. If you haven't had brake
inspection, that might help.
